Wow, you made it to #80 before you dropped below a 3.0 Not bad.
I think before you start your next project you should guess what your ratings would be and then compare after you've watched the film.

That's a really good idea. I'm having a lazy day today, recovering from my whirlwind vacation. Maybe I'll take some time to look at my next list and guess some preemptive ratings.
So, a few reflections on AFI. Overall, I think it's a better, much more solid list than Best Picture, which is reflected in my ratings. Way less movies that I absolutely loathed. For a while, between this and Best Picture, I felt like I saw every movie Dustin Hoffman has ever starred in. He's definitely one of "the" actors of the Baby Boomer generation, although, oddly enough, he's 8 to 10 years older than most of them, not even a Baby Boomer at all.
There were a lot of other "repeat" actors on the AFI list. The biggest: James Stewart & Robert DeNiro (5 each); Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Katharine Hepburn, Alec Guinness, William Holden, & Karl Malden (4 each); Robert Duvall, Faye Dunaway, Cary Grant, Jack Nicholson, Claude Rains, Charlie Chaplin, & Richard Dreyfuss (3 each); plus many who featured in 2.
Some actors I feel are worth the praise (Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin). Some are not (Faye Dunaway, Richard Dreyfuss). I was shocked to see how many movies William Holden was in and yet I always forget he was in them/that he existed. I light up every time I see Karl Malden is in a movie. This project helped me to appreciate both Robert DeNiro & Jack Nicholson, two men who have the capacity to be great actors and yet fell into typecasting after achieving fame.
I could probably come up with more but those are my biggest impressions. :)
