Book Set In/About:
Indignation by Philip Roth

Set at a fictional college in Ohio during the Korean War, a young man struggles to find his own voice and fights for his right to his own religious beliefs. I've actually read this and seem to recall that I didn't like it, but I'm pretty picky about my fiction.

Movie Set In/About:
"Heathers" (1988), directed by Michael Lehmann

Popular girl Veronica (Winona Ryder) grows tired of her clique, the Heathers. When she meets bad boy J.D. (Christian Slater), things become explosive. This dark comedy is a great look at the pressures of both high school and small town life.

Headline of the Day:
"Tim Ryan Won't Run for Ohio Governor" on cincinnati.com.

Ohio is a state that get me signing. Either CSNY's "Ohio" or "Ohio" from My Sister Eileen. One of those songs I really like, one I do not. I'll leave you to decide which is which.

I did not remember that Heathers was set in Ohio. Good fact to know.

Akron is one of my favorite city names.

In exciting news, I am bored at work. I wanted to catch up on your blog, but couldn't remember the password to my blog reader thing. But then! I realized I could probably find a link through your replied comments. So I looked in my email and lo! There was a link. And here I am!

I'm glad you were able to find a way to log in!

I just watched Heathers again the other night and kept thinking to myself, "I feel like I was just referencing this recently." Totally forgot I mentioned it on the blog, haha.

I don't know either of those songs about Ohio! I'm not the biggest fan of Ohio, but then I'm not the biggest fan of the Midwest in general (my old stomping grounds, as you know).

I just realized there's a huge typo on this most. Must go fix.
